ICHIHARA ART×MIX 2020 Call for Art Proposals
1. Contents
We are looking for some artists who take part in “Boso Satoyama art festival ICHIHARA ART×MIX 2020” held from March 20 to May 17, 2020.
Artworks, performances, food, or sports programs of:
(1) making use of history or rich nature resources of Ichihara city.
(2) working with local people. The selected applicants will be requested to stay on the site in order to perform and manage their project.
(3) Promoting to people all over the world.
2. Applicant Qualifications
Anyone that can always provide either “1 Contents (1) ,(2), or (3)” during the art festival.
3. Application Period
From April 1, 2019 (Mon.) through May 17, 2019 (Fri.)
※Applications must arrive by May 17 in Japan Time.
※Applications brought in person will not be accepted.
4. Selected Proposals
About 5 works will be selected (Numbers may be changed depending on the situation.)
5. Application Procedure
Please prepay the application fee, and submit the documents that are specified in this guideline.
6. Documents for Submission
The submitted documents will not be returned. If necessary, please make copies for yourself.
The application must be submitted in Japanese, English, or Chinese.
(1) Two copies of your submission
Please combine documents ①, ②, and ③ into one volume of no more than 10 pages, A3 or A4 size paper, attached by staple.
File folders, binders, or display panels cannot be accepted.
①Application Form: Attach to the front of your submission.
②Project Proposal: Important notice
A: The following information must be included:
・Project title, concept, description, production process, material, size, production schedule, and Estimated budget. (If you have income plan, please submit it.)
・Visual materials such as drawings, model photographs, illustrations, etc. to help visualize your project.
B: Each text on the concept and description of the project should be written in 400 characters in Japanese or on half of an A4 sheet in English or Chinese.
③Reference materials such as a curriculum vitae or example(s) of previous work: This document may be submitted in larger than A4 size. If you have such documents, please fold them in A4.
(2) CD or DVD
Containing digital data of the above documents ①,②, and ③ （in PDF, JPEG, or MS OFFICE [Word, PowerPoint])
7. Requirements
(1) Common things
●Numbers of submissions: No more than 3 proposed plans per person/group
●Artwork conditions: No limitations on size, materials, weight, etc.
●Site and environment conditions: In principle, the site must be returned to its original condition. In case that the site has functions, those functions must be maintained throughout the installation period.
(2) Requirement of art works
●Display period conditions: In principle, the artwork should be able to stay in good condition for the 60 day exhibition period.
(3) Requirement of performances
●Performance has to be held at least one time. For example you can perform many times a day or once several days etc.
8. Prize
●Participation in “ICHIHARA ART×MIX2020
●The selected applicants will be paid for production costs amounting from 500,000 yen to 2,500,000 yen.
※The final budget will be decided based on the estimates and other data submitted by the applicant.
※Production costs include all costs necessary for your art work such as transportation and accommodation costs.

10. Screening
Screening: By review of application documents.
※The Secretariat will contact people who pass the screening in June 2019.
※No inquiries on the screening results can be accepted, so please refrain from contacting us.
11. Announcement of Screening Results
Only selected artists and groups will be announced on the ICHIHARA ART×MIX
official website in the beginning of June 2019.
12. Copyright and Royalty Information
●The applicant will reserve the artistic copyright of the project proposal.
●As a general rule, the Executive Committee will reserve the ownership of the project proposal.
●The plan drawings and visual images from the proposals may be used for purposes related to publicity and promotion of the art festival, official publications, website, press releases, etc., when determined necessary by the Secretariat, with no royalty payment and no permission.to the applicant.
13. How to treat the submitted documents
The submitted documents will not be returned. Whether they are disposed of or kept depends on the decision of the Executive Committee.
14. Application fee
Amount: 1,000 yen (per each proposal)
If the Executive Committee cannot confirm payment by the deadline, we do not screen your submission.

15. Site Visit Tour
Date: April 13, 2019 (Sat.)
●Advance application is required. Please send an E-mail to the Secretariat. The address is “artmix-boshu@city.ichihara.lg.jp”
●First 30 applicants are only accepted.
●Deadline: April 10, 2019 (Wed.)
●Participation fee: 1,000yen (Cash only. The Executive Committee will collect the fee at the meeting point on the day.)
●Meeting point: East Exit of Goi Station (JR Uchibo line). Any traveling fees to the meeting point are charged to the participant.
●Please bring your lunch. (We will have lunch break for an hour.)
●You can apply without participating in the site visit tour.
●Whether you participate or not in the site visit tour has no effect on the screening process.

●Questions and answers will be sorted out and uploaded on the official website.

※We cannot respond to any individual inquiries by phone.
※Handouts distributed at the site visit tours, questions and answers arising at the tour, will be uploaded on the official website.
※Questions should be written in Japanese, English, or Chinese.
